Small leap for a spider…

Here we have the left side of the jumping spider visible. We call it ‘zebra-jumper’ for a cause :-)

Karwin’s idea of making a spider book is actually quite interesting. Least I could do, is to throw in some photos if we ever get that far. I have noticed that those spider pages aren’t necessarily that good either. How about making a decent website first?

Text book example of “depth of field” as well!

When you shoot these little critters, do you use AF or is there time to focus manually? I always have trouble nailing the sharpness with anything that moves.

I was lucky to nail the focus right there where it belongs :-)

My technique is to pre-focus manually and then move myself back and forth until I get some sharpness, and that – I can say from the bottom of my heart – could be challenging.

These pics were shot with flash and I used all manual settings in my camera. Aperture was F 22 and ratio 1:1. I have to say that buying a flashgun was not a very bad idea after all :-)

I almost bought Sigma 300/4 APO macro today but focus ring was basicly crap :-/ Loved the focusing distance which was about 1m from the lens :-P
