Arctic bramble bud

Despite of the fact, that I come from Lapland, I don’t like cloudberries. Well, I eat them when served, but I dislike the taste. Arctic bramble is a different story, though :-)

My first encounter with this gentle berry was in early teenage. We used to swim in river Tornionjoki and nearby our beach was a riverbank, where the berries were growing. Somehow, I still can reproduce the taste in my mind!

Purple avens

I fully understand, why people are shooting flowers with long telephoto lenses. -Background control is so difficult with 90mm macro lens! Also, you have to be close to the subject with shorter focal lengths.

Despite of saturday’s unfortunate accident, I managed to get a decent shot of purple avens. It is actually first summer I notice this plant! I had to use quite large aperture to get a bit smoother BG, and higher ISO-speed to eliminate the wind caused movement.
