Purple avens

I fully understand, why people are shooting flowers with long telephoto lenses. -Background control is so difficult with 90mm macro lens! Also, you have to be close to the subject with shorter focal lengths.

Despite of saturday’s unfortunate accident, I managed to get a decent shot of purple avens. It is actually first summer I notice this plant! I had to use quite large aperture to get a bit smoother BG, and higher ISO-speed to eliminate the wind caused movement.

You beat me to it! I discovered this flower last summer in the mountains, don’t know how I had managed to miss it before… but now I found a whole field full of these close to home, I’m just waiting for a quiet day to shoot them. This is not a plant for the windy days!

And oh yes, I will be using a long lens. :P
