Isoneva marshland protectorate
Posted in Uncategorized on July 9th, 2006 by adminIsoneva is a marshland between Noormarkku and Pomarkku. Area is very beautiful with its ponds and dwarfed pines. First time we were in the swamp two weeks ago, the cranberries were in full bloom (The marsh was full of cranberry flowers!) and we also found some raw cloudberries.
Red throated diver, osprey, golden plower and many other bird species can also been seen there. There is some magic in the air when you see and hear red throated divers passing by :-)
Viper is our only poisonous snake and it also dwells in Isoneva. We almost walked over this individual, but luckily it was spotted before the closer encounter. Shooting a snake can be a tricky business. I’ve heard rumors that these fellows don’t see very well. At least I couldn’t move very much without snake noticing it and I was in the duckboard and snake in the marsh. Wish I had had 300mm lens already then! I’m hoping to get it tomorrow evening or Tuesday.
