Ringed Snake meets Water Strider
You have to shoot when you see some action in the viewfinder, no matter if there’s also some reeds in between you and the subject! This was the lesson learned today :P I didn’t have time to move the blocking reeds away, that’s why the crop tool got some use.

I think the light is better here, but the strider is not present :(
At least you had the camera ready for action! I usually miss the unique opportunities because I have wrong lens, wrong settings, wrong everything…
I also prefer the second image though, it looks almost polarised.
It happens every now and then that the gear and shooter are both ready at the same time :)) This one was a lucky one.
Polarizer would be nice with this kind of shot, but it slows things down so much that the gain ratio would be quite marginal.
