Life without the internet

As you may have noticed, I haven’t been online for a while. On the beginning of the August, we had our apartment sold and needed to find a new home. In less than three weeks we moved out from the old place and into the new and somewhere there we lost the internet connection :P Some of you might have few good questions regarding all this spare time of mine, and I’ll enlighten you right away!

No, I haven’t eaten mushrooms all the time, they can be quite harmful to one’s health if you pick up and eat the poisonous ones. Neither have I stayed awake all nights, but yes, I have had some close encounters with the bats:

I also spent some time nearby the pet-cemetery and found some blossoming harebells (at this time of the season, wow):

Some gear has been updated as well. I sold my Nikkor 50/1,8 and Sigma 18-50/3,5-5,6 and bought Sigma 30/1,4 instead. -The picture of a bat was shot with the latter Sigma. Also did I finally get my hands into Micro Nikkor 105/2,8G VR ED, oh boy what a monster! I kept the Tamron 90mm because my precious and lovely wife loves the lens and I think she deserves to have it :) All this tells that internet connection and especially lack of it can be very harmful to your wallet. I did not like the Sigma 30/1,4 that much, so I sold it together with SB-600 flash and bought SB-800 with the money I got. Now I have enough power for the close-up work with 300mm + PN-11 tube. Oh yes, the tube is “new” as well…bought it second hand because Ronnie Gaubert and many other pro’s do use it much and I was quite fed up with the Kenko’s. Very good deal, very good gadget!

I have started to study again. If life is kind and God’s good hand is upon me, I’ll get some serious network training in the coming two years. Cisco CCNA, Ethernet, TCP/IP, OSI-model etc.

Five or six books went through my hands and eyes in the past weeks. Don’t tell this to anyone, but I also do some stick-walking every now and then…

Tried to get an eye-level perspective and shallow DOF in this one. The lizard was very co-operative and couldn’t care less about me and my doings. Time to take a nap!

Good to be back again!
